Save and find candidates in My candidates
Updated
talent pool, shortlist, save candidate, search candidates, skills search, remove candidateThis is for recruiters building a pool of people to call on for future roles. My candidates holds the people you imported and the people you saved from your roles.
Open a role's candidates
Select Jobs in the sidebar, open a managed role, then select its Candidates tab.
Tick the people to save
Tick each person you want to keep.
Save them
Select Save to My candidates in the bar that appears. The button shows how many people you ticked.
Check the outcome
Orbit tells you what happened to each person. Select Open My candidates to see them.
Some people weren't saved
Read the reason next to their names. Common ones: their CV isn’t public right now, their Virtual CV is still being built, they recently declined, or they have had enough emails from employers this week. Try again later for the last one.
Applicants are asked first
Saving an AI match that has a public CV saves them straight away. Saving someone who applied works differently: Orbit emails them to ask if you can keep their CV for future roles. Until they answer, you can read their CV while their application lasts. They stay on the original role either way.
You can also save one person from their candidate page, using Save to My candidates.
Search My candidates
- Select My candidates in the sidebar.
- Choose By skills and type a skill, pressing Enter or a comma after each one. People are listed by how many of the skills they have. Select Rank with AI to reorder the results with AI, then Why to read the reasons.
- Or choose Paste a job description, paste the description and select Find candidates.
Select Clear search to go back to the full list. People with no skills listed can’t be found by a search.
Remove people
In My candidates, select Remove next to one person, or tick several and select Remove in the bar that appears. Then confirm with Remove. They leave My candidates and your access to their CV through it ends. If they applied to one of your roles, they stay on that role. An imported CV nobody has claimed is not deleted: it stays with the person, who can still claim it.
Statuses you may see
- Waiting for the person: Orbit emailed them to ask, and they haven’t answered yet.
- Kept: they said you can keep their CV for future roles.
- Declined: they said no thanks. Their application is not affected.
- Bookmarked: a public CV you saved from a role.
- No longer public: they took their CV offline.
