Read a screening report

Updated

This is for recruiters reviewing a candidate who has completed a screening. The report gives findings for each part in the candidate’s own words. It doesn’t give a score.

Open Screening

Select Screening in the sidebar. Every screening on the account is listed, newest first.

Find the candidate

Type a name or role into the search box, or filter by status, to find a screening marked Completed.

Open the findings

Select View findings on that row. The report opens as Screening findings with the candidate’s name.

It says the report is being written

The report usually takes a minute or two after the candidate finishes. Refresh the page to see it. If it is taking longer than it should, it will appear once it is written.

The candidate declined

A declined screening has no report. The candidate chose not to take part and nothing was recorded.

You can also open a report from the candidate’s page: on the Screening card, select View findings.

What each section means

  • Summary at the top: lists anything Worth a look first. If there is nothing, it says Nothing worth a look. If the answers were too thin to judge, it says Not much to go on. It also says how many parts were covered.
  • Each part: shows whether it was covered, partly covered or not covered, with the candidate’s words under In their words.
  • Look at: specific points worth raising with the candidate.
  • Against the CV: where an answer differs from what their CV says. If no CV was available, the report says the answers couldn’t be checked against one, and says nothing either way.
  • How it was taken: facts about how answers were written, such as text that was pasted in, typed faster than typing, or written after time away from the page. These are facts to raise in an interview, not a judgement.

How long reports are kept

The conversation itself is deleted 90 days after the screening is completed. The findings are kept, with the quotes copied in.

If a candidate asks for their data to be removed, the report keeps its summaries but their words and name are deleted. The report shows the date of the request.
