Turn on two-factor sign-in in Virtual CV
Updated
2FA, MFA, two-step verification, authenticator app, security, sign outThis is for Virtual CV users who want extra protection on their account. You need an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
Open Security settings
Select Settings in the sidebar, then Security under You.
Start the setup
In the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) card, select Turn on two-factor.
Scan the code
Open your authenticator app and scan the code shown under Scan this with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan it, use the key under Can’t scan? Enter this key by hand and select Copy Code to copy it.
Go to the next step
Select Next.
Enter the 6-digit code
Type the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows for Wipperoz.
Verify the code
Select Verify. The card now shows On, and you’ll enter a code from your app each time you sign in.
It says the code didn't match
Codes change every 30 seconds. Wait for a fresh code and try again. If codes keep failing, check that the date and time on your phone are set automatically.
I sign in with Google
Two-factor here protects sign-in with your email and password. When you sign in with Google, Google’s own security settings apply.
Turn it off or move it to a new phone
On the same Security page:
- To move to a new phone, select Reconfigure and repeat the steps above with the new phone.
- To turn it off, select Turn off, then Turn off again in the Turn off two-factor? box. Your password alone will sign you in again.
Signing out and other devices
To sign out, select the log-out icon (Log out) at the bottom of the sidebar, then Log out in the Log out of Wipperoz? box. Your Virtual CVs stay live while you’re signed out.
Virtual CV doesn’t show a list of devices you’re signed in on, and there’s no button to sign out other devices. Changing your password doesn’t sign them out either: they stay signed in until their sessions expire. If you think someone else has access to your account, change your password, turn on two-factor and contact support.
