GST and currency
Updated
GST, tax, AUD, USD, currency, excl. GST, incl. GSTThis explains how tax and currency work when you pay Wipperoz, in Virtual CV and in Orbit. For the prices themselves, see Virtual CV plans and pricing or the Orbit plans and pricing article.
Who pays GST
GST (Australia’s goods and services tax, 10%) applies to customers in Australia. Customers outside Australia don’t pay it.
Where you are is decided by Stripe, our payment provider, from your billing address, your card or your IP address. It isn’t decided by the currency you pay in. An Australian customer paying in USD still pays GST, and a customer outside Australia paying in AUD doesn’t.
Virtual CV: prices include GST
Credit packages are priced with GST included. If you’re in Australia, the price you see is the price you pay, and the package shows incl. GST. If you’re outside Australia, you pay the same price and no GST is charged.
Orbit: prices exclude GST
Orbit plans and purchases are priced before GST, the usual way for business purchases. If you’re in Australia, 10% GST is added on top when you pay, and on each plan invoice. If your account is billed in AUD, prices show as excl. GST, and the plan step of onboarding says Prices shown exclude GST, which is added to your invoices.
Your currency: AUD or USD
Your account is billed in Australian dollars (AUD) or US dollars (USD). This is set once, when the account is created, from where you signed up: AUD if you signed up in Australia, USD everywhere else. Every price, charge and invoice on the account uses that currency, and there’s no setting to change it in the app.
A discount code made for the other currency won’t apply. You’ll see That code is for a different currency than your account is billed in.
Where to see the GST you paid
Your invoices show what you were charged. Download them from Settings, Invoices & Receipts. See Download invoices and receipts.
