Create share links for your CV
Updated
password protect, expiring link, private link, view limit, revoke link, share linkYour live CV always has one public address. A share link is an extra address you give to one person or one job, so you can see who opened it and control it separately. Share links are free.
Open the CV in the builder
In the sidebar, select My Virtual CVs, then select Edit on the CV.
Name the link
Under New link, type a Label, for example the recruiter’s name. Only you see it.
Choose when it expires
Under Expires, select Never, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days.
Add a password or view limit
Optionally, turn on Ask for a password and enter the password recipients will need, or turn on Stop working after a number of views and set the number.
Choose what this link shows
The link shows what your public page shows. To hide more for this link only, select Adjust for this link and turn off what you don’t want this person to see.
Create the link
Select Create link. It appears under Your links.
Copy it
Select Copy on the new link and send it.
I can't turn a section on for this link
A share link can hide more than your public settings, never less. If a section is hidden on your CV, turn it on in Public settings first.
The link doesn't open for the person
Check that your CV is live. While a CV is offline, its links stop working. Also check whether the link has expired, reached its view limit or been turned off: its status shows under Your links.
Comments and suggestions
Turn on Allow comments & suggestions before you create a link if you want feedback. Whoever has that link can comment on sections and propose text changes, which you accept or reject.
Turn a link off or delete it
Under Your links:
- Revoke turns a link off straight away for anyone who has it. Select Turn back on to reactivate it later.
- Delete link removes the link and its view history for good. Anyone with the address sees a not-found page, and the address is never reused.
See who opened it
Each link shows how many times it was viewed and when it was last opened, so you can tell recipients apart.
To make your CV live in the first place, see Publish your CV and share the link.
